INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL THROTTLE W/MOTOR BODY ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the No. 5 water by-pass hose to the throttle W/ motor body.

(b) Install the No. 4 water by-pass hose to the throttle W/ motor body.

(c) Install a new gasket to the intake air surge tank.

HINT:

Align the protrusion of the gasket with the groove of the intake air surge tank.

(d) Install the throttle W/ motor body with the 4 bolts.

Torque: 10 N·m (102 kgf·cm, 7 ft·lbf)


(e) Connect the throttle W/ motor body connector.

(f) Connect the No. 5 water by-pass hose.

(g) Connect the No. 4 water by-pass hose.

2. ADD ENGINE COOLANT 3UR-FE COOLING: COOLANT: REPLACEMENT (2008 Sequoia)+

3. INSTALL AIR CLEANER HOSE ASSEMBLY 3UR-FE INTAKE / EXHAUST: INTAKE MANIFOLD: INSTALLATION (2008 Sequoia)+

4. INSPECT FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAK 3UR-FE COOLING: COOLING SYSTEM: ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION (2008 Sequoia)+

5. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

NOTICE:

  • Be sure to perform this procedure after reassembling the throttle body assembly or removing and reinstalling any throttle body component.
  • Be sure to perform this procedure after reconnecting the battery cable and replacing the ECM.

(a) Disconnect the EFI fuse and ETCS fuse and ETCS fuse at the same time. Wait at least 60 seconds and reconnect the fuses.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position without operating the accelerator pedal.

NOTICE:

If the accelerator pedal is operated, perform the above steps again.

(c) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3 and clear the DTCs 3UR-FE ENGINE CONTROL: SFI SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR (2008 Sequoia) .

(d) Start the engine and check that the MIL is not illuminated and that the idle speed is within the specified range when the A/C is switched off after the engine is warmed up.

NOTICE:

  • Be sure to perform this step with all accessories off.
  • Make sure that the shift lever is in N of P.

(e) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ETC / Data List / All Data / Throttle Sensor Position. Sensor Output. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and check that the value is 60% or more.

(f) Perform a road test and confirm that there are no abnormalities.

6. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 3UR-FE INTAKE / EXHAUST: INTAKE MANIFOLD: INSTALLATION (2008 Sequoia)+
